COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This HYBRID CLASS starts 2/3/2018 with a review on 5/5/2018 8am – 4:30pm and Certification test out on 5/12/2018 at training center in Augusta from 10am—12.  This Blackboard Online class is challenging and the student must at least be a 5th year apprentice.  Book can be picked up on January 10th  before the union meeting in Augusta

This blackboard class will serve potential foremen by instilling the principles of the UA Standard for Excellence, enabling him/her to effectively convey these principles on each and every jobsite. It takes the user through a realistic realm of the daily duties of a foreman -- "Planning and Scheduling," "Documentation and Recordkeeping," "Managing, Measuring, and Improving Productivity," "Change Orders," and "Close-out." It encompasses the behavioral mindsets of individuals on the job, and how to properly deal with each issue that may arise, inclusive in chapters on "Image and Professionalism," "Relationships," and "Disputes, Conflicts and Negotiation." Each student will walk away with a complete knowledge of what is expected of a certified UA foreman.

This five-day course introduces attendees new to construction safety and health to the OSHA standards (29 CFR 1926). Attendees who complete all five days will receive an OSHA 30-hour construction course certificate. Class runs from 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m., day one through day five.
